Beware Of You "Self Portraits" EP Review

I recently came across Dublin’s newest pop punk/ post hardcore band Beware Of You and immediately fell in love with their music.

The band consists of members Leah Moore (vocals) Tara Behan (lead guitar) Sam Brown (rhythm guitar) Brian Loughney (bass) and Anthony Manly on drums. All coming from different musical backgrounds to create a new and original take on your average pop punk sound.

Their new EP “Self Portraits” opens with a classic intro for the song “Control” This song is definitely one to start a mosh pit to. Very hardcore but in a catchy way, you’ll have it on repeat for days.

“I Can’t Explain” is another great tune, I must say Tara’s guitar and Brian’s bass are exceptional in this one. 

My personal favourite song from this amazing EP is “I’ll Forget You” Anthony and Sam really stand out and add so much power to this song. I love the lyrics and the meaning behind it. You can really feel what Leah is singing, she adds so much emotion and definitely proved to me that she is not the next Hayley Williams but the unique Leah Moore.

I’m so glad I found this EP. You know when you find a band or album that not many people have heard of and you want to keep them all to yourself, but then again you want the whole world to hear them? That’s Beware Of You for me. The fact that they’re Irish make them ten times cooler. Up the Dubs

I’d recommend this EP for fans of Paramore, Tonight Alive, Neck Deep, All Time Low  and pretty much everyone who likes a bit of punk rock.  Just listen to it, trust me you won’t regret it

I’d like to wish Beware Of You all the best in the future and at Electric Picnic this year! I look forward to hearing the classic album I know they can make in the years to come.

Black To Black by Amy Winehouse, great album 10/10 would recommend 

4. What was the last show you attended?

Taylor Swifts 1989 world tour, unreal concert definitely one of the best i've been too

5. What was the greatest show you've ever been to?

Well, like i said Taylor Swift's 1989 tour was amazing, her Speak Now world tour was also an amazing show. I really enjoyed seeing All Time Low this year, they put on a great show and i managed to get to the front which is always fun.

6. What's the worst show you've ever been to?

I can honestly say that i've really enjoyed every show i have been to 

7. What's the most musically involved you have ever been?

This Summer i had the opportunity to go on the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus. It was the most amazing musical experience. Let me know if you would like a blog post about my time on it

8. What show are you looking forward to?

I have a few shows coming up, I'm seeing State Champs, Kelly Clarkson, Motionless In White and Mayday Parade shortly which i am very excited about!

10. What is your favorite band shirt?

i own about 50 million band shirts so its impossible for me to pick a favourite

11. What musician would you like to hang out with for a day?

Joan Jett what a legend! She's the whole reason i picked up a guitar and influenced me in so many ways. I'd love to spend a day with her.

12. One musician or group you wish would make a comeback?

My Chemical Romance, duh

13. One band/artist you've never seen live but always wanted to?

Avril Lavigne for sure!

Lemonade Mouth! Such a good movie and soundtrack, forever wishing they were a real band 

19. What was your last musical "phase" before you wisened up?

I still like all the music i listened to when i was younger, my taste just developed a bit more

20. What's your "guilty pleasure" that you hate to admit to liking?

HANNAH MONTANA!!!!
